March 2014: In Spring 2014 I took delivery of a bonsai pot, purpose-built for this tree by Vic Harris of Erin Bonsai. A wide planting area was required for the rootsystem of the tree, and in particular, the root-jin. And so, Vic designed a crescent pot with a shallow, but wide, base that could accommodate the tree.
March 2014: I was able to plant the tree straight into its new pot without any root-pruning. Vic Harris had envisaged the composition of bonsai and its bonsai pot as a 'dragon emerging from a cave' and this image was well and truly achieved!
